Invoicing and VAT in Oman

Oman charges VAT and requires compliant tax invoices. Here's what your business and field teams need to know.

VAT in Oman

Oman applies Value Added Tax at a standard rate of 5% (introduced 16 April 2021), administered by the Oman Tax Authority. Certain goods and services are zero-rated or exempt.

What a compliant tax invoice needs

  • Seller name, address and VAT identification number
  • Buyer details and VAT number for B2B
  • A unique sequential invoice number and issue date
  • Description, quantity and unit price of goods/services
  • The taxable amount, VAT rate and VAT amount (in OMR)
  • The gross total payable

Invoicing on the go

Field sales and distribution teams need to issue a valid tax invoice at the point of sale — often offline. Invoice Max Pro is built offline-first, so nothing is lost and every document keeps its sequential number.
